Gail was born in Boston, Massachusetts. Gail was one of the smallest kids in her class. She made good grades in every subject but conduct. This grade suffered because she was a chatterbox. Gail excelled in reading, but struggled with P.E. She loved playing with paper dolls growing up and created different stories using the dolls. Gail taught school for 13 years. She taught students in grades 3 – 12. Gail stopped teaching so that she could devote all of her time to writing.

Why does Mrs. Karwoski like to write?

• That’s what writers do.
• She likes to be her own boss.
• She can decide what happens in a book.
• She likes to communicate ideas with other people.
• She likes to learn new things.
• She wrote stories, journals, poems, and reports as a young student.
• She likes to travel and visit the places she writes about.

Gail is married to Chester Karwoski and they have two daughters, Leslie and Geneva. The Karwoskis live in Watkinsville, GA. Spencer staff and students are very proud to add Mrs. Karwoski as one of our world-renowned authors. We are looking forward to reading many more of her books.
