All medical issues at JTR are handled by the LPN, school nurse, Mrs. Dawn Bennett.  Nurse Bennett dispenses daily prescribed medications to students under the care of a doctor. Additionally, all over- the-counter medicines for headaches, stomach aches, allergies, and other common ailments must be brought in by a parent to the nurse’s office.

If your child has any major medical conditions the school nurse needs to be immediately alerted in order to provide your child with the necessary proper care. Our school nurse prides herself in giving students the best professional care possible to ensure that they are healthy well-bodied individuals that are able to be academically successful.

Other duties of the school nurse include monitoring health issues such as diabetes and asthma, and administering basic first aid care. The school nurse also works as an educator teaching student’s ways to prevent illnesses and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
