PreK Students Learn About Animals

At the Tift County Pre-K Center, Miss Melissa Rainey's class was recently involved in learning about a special unit. They learned about animals and even opened up "Miss Melissa's Pet Shop" so they could buy their own pets from the pet shop owner! The students wanted to tie in something special to their unit and since they had learned so much about animals and pets, they decided to get together some things for the Tifton-Tift County Animal Shelter.
14 Tift County Students Named to All State Chorus

Perhaps the highest honor any student can earn during their school years is to be named to an all-state roster. This past weekend, 14 young people from the Tift County School System reveled in that honor.
A total of seven high school students and six middle school students from Tifton traveled to Savannah last Thursday to sing with the Georgia Music Educators Association 2010 All State Choruses. Literally thousands of students from all over the state tried out, but only a few earned all-state honors
