"Caring for Kids" Clothing and Supply Closet

School clothing, school supplies and backpacks – items many take for granted are instrumental for a child’s development. The Tift County School System will open the “Caring for Kids” Clothing and Supply Closet in August which will assist families in need by providing students in the Tift County School System with gently used clothing and new school supplies.

School social workers will begin accepting donations of clothing and school supplies the first of August. While the clothing closet is open to receive donations of gently used clothing items, other items must be purchased. Monetary donations will be used to purchase new socks, new underwear and new shoes for the students. If you are interested in making a monetary donation, or donating clothing or school supplies, please contact Gina Cox, Director of Student Services at 229-387-2400. All donations are tax-deductible, and receipts will be gladly given upon request.

Rezoning Approved for 2010-2011

Tift County Board of Education has approved 2010-2011 zoning maps for Matt Wilson and Charles Spencer schools. As J.T. Reddick becomes home to all 6th grade students in the district, the new zone lines provide guidance for 2010-2011 grade four and five students, with the exception of Omega School.  Zoning for Omega School’s 4th and 5th grades is not affected by the new maps.
All students affected by the recently approved zoning maps have been notified by mail.  The new maps are currently on display at the Tift County Board of Education office at 207 N. Ridge Ave. Please call 229-387-2400 with questions.
