Academic Regulations: Grading & Report Cards

Grading Criteria & Grading Promotion

Eighth Street Middle School operates on a yearly system for grades seven and eight.  Averaging the four nine week’s grades to arrive at the final yearly grade will derive a student’s grade.

Report Cards

Report cards will be issued to the students at the end of each "nine-weeks," approximately five days after the end of the grading period. Report cards for the final nine weeks will be mailed to the student's home.

Mid-Quarter Reports

A progress report will be given to each student after four and one-half weeks of each nine-week grading period.  Parents will be notified by news media of the day Mid-quarter reports are to be given.

Grading System and Procedure

Tift County Schools will operate on a nine-week grading system.  There will be four grading periods during the year.  Report cards will be sent home according to the schedule on the current school calendar.

Letter grades are determined from the schedule listed below:

B - 80 - 89
